[News] Gag Concert performs in Dubai

Four comedians of the “Babbling Comedy” segment from the KBS show “Gag Concert” have recently performed for audiences in Dubai.

Visiting professor Seo Kyung-duk from Sungshin Women’s University, who is overseeing the marketing efforts for the quartet, said on Feb. 13 that the four members of the group, Cho Su-won, Chae Kyung-sun, Cho Jun-woo and Choi Ki-seob, have been performing at the Dubai Shopping Festival since January.

“The comedians performed more than 15 free performances at the festival in Dubai. The members were invited by the event’s organizers and each performance was to a full house,” said Seo.

Cho Su-won, the leader of the group said that he was surprised at how well the show was received by the Middle-Eastern audience. “It just goes to show that English is not the official language of the world, but laughter is,” said Cho.

The four men from the KBS comedy program had previously performed at the Edinburgh International festival in Scotland in 2010 and 2011. The “Babbling Comedy” show will also tour China in April, India in May and the United States in July of this year.
